How To Make Moong Dal?

Rinse 1 cup moong dal thoroughly

Soak the dal in water for 20 to 30 minutes

Drain the water

Add the dal to a pot with 3 to 4 cups water

Add salt to taste

Bring to a boil

Reduce heat and simmer until the dal is soft

Stir occasionally and add more water if needed

Heat oil or ghee in a pan

Add cumin seeds

Add chopped onion and sauté until golden

Add ginger, garlic, and green chili

Add chopped tomato and cook until soft

Add turmeric, red chili powder, and coriander powder

Pour the tempering into the cooked dal

Mix well

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves

Serve hot
