Choose a large grow bag with drainage holes
Place the bag in a sunny location
Fill the bottom with 4 to 6 inches of loose potting soil or compost
Cut seed potatoes into pieces with at least one eye each, if needed
Let cut seed pieces dry for a day before planting
Place 2 to 4 seed pieces on the soil surface
Cover the seed pieces with 3 to 4 inches of soil
Water the soil until evenly moist
Keep the soil moist but not soggy
When shoots grow 6 to 8 inches tall, add more soil around them
Repeat adding soil until the bag is nearly full
Continue watering regularly throughout the growing season
Feed with a balanced fertilizer if needed
Watch for pests and disease
Harvest new potatoes after flowering if desired
Harvest main crop when the foliage turns yellow and dies back
Tip the bag over and empty the soil to collect the potatoes
Let harvested potatoes dry before storing them in a cool, dark place
