Wash and peel the potatoes if desired
Cut the potatoes into even fry-shaped strips
Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 20 to 30 minutes
Drain the potatoes and pat them completely dry
Toss the potatoes with oil, salt, and any desired seasonings
Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet
Line the baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes
Flip the fries halfway through baking
Bake until golden brown and crisp
Remove from the oven and season more if needed
Serve immediately
