Clean the ski base with a ski-specific base cleaner or a dry cloth
Secure the skis in a vise or stable work area
Remove old wax and dirt with a plastic scraper if needed
Brush the base lightly with a nylon brush
Choose the correct wax for the snow temperature and conditions
Heat the waxing iron to the wax manufacturer’s recommended temperature
Hold the wax against the iron and drip wax evenly onto the ski base
Spread the wax with the iron in smooth, continuous passes
Keep the iron moving to avoid overheating the base
Let the skis cool completely at room temperature
Scrape off excess wax with a plastic scraper
Scrape from tip to tail in long, even strokes
Brush the base with a nylon brush to remove remaining wax from the structure
Finish with a horsehair or finer brush if desired
Wipe the ski edges clean
Store skis in a cool, dry place after waxing
