Let the wax harden completely
Scrape off excess wax with a dull knife or spoon
Place a paper towel or brown paper bag over the wax
Apply a warm iron on low heat over the paper towel for a few seconds
Lift the paper towel and repeat with a clean section until no more wax transfers
Vacuum the area after the wax is removed
Apply a carpet-safe cleaner to any remaining stain
Blot the area with a clean cloth
Let the carpet dry completely
Repeat if needed for stubborn residue
