How To Make A Butter?

Pour heavy cream into a clean bowl or jar

Let the cream come to room temperature

Whip or shake the cream until it thickens

Continue whipping or shaking until the butter separates from the liquid

Drain off the liquid buttermilk

Rinse the butter under cold water

Press and knead the butter to remove excess liquid

Add salt if desired

Shape or store the butter in a container

Refrigerate until ready to use
