Roll primer onto larger brick surfaces
Let the primer dry fully
Apply heat-resistant paint if the fireplace is used for heat exposure
Use a brush and roller for even coverage
Paint mortar joints first, then the brick faces
Apply a second coat if needed
Let the paint cure according to the product instructions
Remove painter’s tape carefully
Reinstall or clean any removed fixtures or decor
Avoid using the fireplace until the paint is fully cured
