Use a double-12 domino set

Shuffle all dominoes face down

Each player draws 16 dominoes in a 2- or 3-player game

Leave the remaining dominoes in a boneyard

Place the highest double on the table to start the first round

Begin the next round with the next lower double

If no one has the required double, draw from the boneyard until it appears

Players take turns placing one domino at a time

Match one end of a domino to an open end on the layout

If a player cannot play, they must draw one domino

If the drawn domino can be played, it must be played immediately

If it cannot be played, the player passes

A Mexican Train may be started from the center hub

Any player may add dominoes to their own train

Other players may add dominoes to the Mexican Train if it is open

A train becomes open when its owner cannot play on it

A player may also play on another open train if allowed by the rules being used

The round ends when a player uses all their dominoes

The round also ends if no player can make a legal move

Score the round by adding the pips left in each player’s hand

The player with the lowest total score after all rounds wins

Play multiple rounds, starting each with the next lower double

Use the double-blank as the final starting double if included in the set
