Open the case lid with your AirPods inside
Keep the AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad
Unlock your iPhone or iPad
Go to Settings
Tap Bluetooth
Tap the i icon next to your AirPods
Toggle on Find My for the AirPods
If prompted, tap Done
To check status: open the Find My app
Tap Devices
Confirm your AirPods appear under your devices
