How To Address A Letter Envelope?

Write the recipient’s name on the first line (include title if applicable).

Add the street address on the next line (include apartment/suite/unit number).

Add the city, state/province, and ZIP/postal code on the next line.

Add the country name on the last line if mailing internationally.

Use the correct format for the country you’re sending to (especially for international addresses).

If sending to a business, use the company name on the line below (or above) the recipient’s name as appropriate.

If sending to an organization/department, include the department name after the company/recipient name.

If using a PO Box, write “PO Box” (or “P.O. Box”) plus the box number instead of a street address.

Ensure all lines are left-aligned and written clearly.

Include the return address in the top-left corner (name or organization, street address, city/state/ZIP, and country if international).
