Turn on the irrigation zone and let the sprinkler pop up
Check the current spray pattern and distance
Use a flathead screwdriver to turn the radius adjustment screw on top of the nozzle
Turn the screw clockwise to reduce spray distance
Turn the screw counterclockwise to increase spray distance
Rotate the nozzle turret by hand to aim the spray direction
Adjust the left edge by turning the turret until it starts at the desired point
Set the right edge by turning the arc adjustment screw if the model has one
Use the Rain Bird adjustment tool if available for easier nozzle and arc changes
Replace the nozzle if a different spray pattern or distance is needed
Make small adjustments while the zone is running
Test the sprinkler after each adjustment
Ensure the sprinkler head retracts properly after shutting off the water
