How To Blanch Tomatoes?

Bring a pot of water to a boil

Prepare a bowl of ice water

Wash the tomatoes

Cut a small X on the bottom of each tomato

Place the tomatoes in the boiling water for 15 to 60 seconds

Remove the tomatoes with a slotted spoon

Transfer them immediately to the ice water

Let them cool for 30 to 60 seconds

Remove the tomatoes from the ice water

Peel off the skins starting at the X mark
