Add borax to raise pH more gradually
Follow the product label dosage instructions
Turn on the pool pump before adding chemicals
Broadcast the chemical evenly across the pool surface
Keep the pump running for several hours after adding
Retest the water after circulation
Repeat small adjustments until the pH is in range
Avoid adding too much at once
Check total alkalinity if pH keeps dropping
Rebalance alkalinity if needed
Recheck pH regularly after rain, heavy use, or chemical additions
