Use Body Mass Index (BMI) to estimate a healthy weight range for a given height
Measure height in meters or centimeters and weight in kilograms
Calculate BMI using the formula: BMI = weight in kg ÷ (height in meters × height in meters)
Rearrange the formula to find weight: weight in kg = BMI × height in meters × height in meters
Use a healthy BMI range of 18.5 to 24.9 to estimate a healthy weight range
Calculate minimum healthy weight: 18.5 × height in meters × height in meters
Calculate maximum healthy weight: 24.9 × height in meters × height in meters
Example for 1.70 m height: minimum weight = 18.5 × 1.70 × 1.70
Example for 1.70 m height: maximum weight = 24.9 × 1.70 × 1.70
Convert height in centimeters to meters by dividing by 100
Use the same formula after converting height to meters
