Turn off power to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker
Confirm the power is off with a voltage tester
Remove the fan blades if needed for easier handling
Remove the light kit or any attached accessories
Disconnect the wiring connections in the ceiling box
Support the fan while removing the mounting bracket
Lower and remove the old ceiling fan
Install the new mounting bracket
Connect the new fan wires to the ceiling wires
Secure the wire connections with wire nuts
Attach the fan motor to the mounting bracket
Reinstall the blades
Install the light kit if included
Tighten all screws and hardware
Restore power at the breaker
Test the fan and light functions
