Turn off power to the disposal at the breaker
Unplug the disposal if it has a cord
Place a bucket under the sink
Disconnect the drain pipe from the disposal
Disconnect the dishwasher hose if attached
Remove the disposal from the mounting ring
Support the disposal while twisting it off the mount
Lower the old disposal and set it aside
Remove the old mounting hardware if replacing it
Install the new mounting ring and sink flange
Apply plumber’s putty if required
Secure the new mounting assembly under the sink
Attach the new disposal to the mounting ring
Connect the drain pipe to the disposal
Reconnect the dishwasher hose if needed
Plug in the disposal or wire it according to instructions
Tighten all connections
Restore power at the breaker
Run water and test the disposal for leaks and operation
