Measure the window and the existing blinds
Choose replacement blinds that fit the window size and mounting style
Remove the old blinds from the brackets
Unscrew or release the mounting brackets if needed
Take down the old headrail and hardware
Mark the new bracket positions if the old ones do not match
Drill pilot holes if required
Attach the new mounting brackets
Insert the new blinds into the brackets
Secure the headrail or top rail in place
Test the blinds by raising, lowering, and tilting them
Adjust the brackets or hardware if the blinds do not operate smoothly
Install any valance, covers, or finishing pieces
Clean up the area and dispose of the old blinds
