Turn off power to the disposal at the breaker
Unplug the disposal if it has a plug
Disconnect the drain trap and dishwasher hose if attached
Remove the old disposal from the mounting ring
Detach the electrical wiring
Install the new mounting assembly
Connect the new disposal to the mounting ring
Reconnect the electrical wiring
Reattach the drain trap and dishwasher hose
Restore power
Test for leaks and proper operation
