Turn off the vehicle and remove the key
Open the trunk, hatch, or access panel behind the rear light
Remove any trim covers or fasteners blocking access
Disconnect the wiring connector from the rear light assembly
Remove the mounting nuts, bolts, or screws
Pull the rear light assembly straight out
Remove the old bulb from the socket or replace the full assembly if needed
Insert the new bulb or new rear light assembly
Reconnect the wiring connector
Reinstall the mounting nuts, bolts, or screws
Refit any trim covers or access panels
Test the rear light to confirm it works properly
