Notice bad breath that does not improve with brushing or mouthwash
Check for a sore throat, throat irritation, or a feeling of something stuck
Look for difficulty swallowing or a metallic taste
Use a clean cotton swab or tongue depressor only if you can do so safely
Ask someone to help look if you cannot see your tonsils clearly
See a dentist or doctor if you are unsure or if symptoms keep coming back
