How To Clean A Hairbrush?

Remove hair from the brush using your fingers or a comb

For stubborn hair, use scissors to carefully cut it away, then pull it out

Fill a bowl with warm water and a few drops of mild shampoo

Soak the brush (bristles downward) for 10–20 minutes

For brushes with mixed materials, avoid soaking the handle and backing

Use an old toothbrush to scrub between bristles and along the base

Rinse thoroughly under warm running water

Remove excess water by shaking the brush gently

Blot with a clean towel

Air-dry completely with bristles facing downward

For faster drying, place on a towel with airflow and avoid heat sources

Disinfect by wiping bristles with 70% isopropyl alcohol or a diluted disinfectant, then rinse if needed

Let disinfectant dry fully before using

Clean the brush regularly: lightly after each few uses and more thoroughly monthly (or as needed)
