How To Clean A Toaster?

Unplug the toaster and let it cool completely

Turn the toaster upside down over a trash can and shake out crumbs

Remove the crumb tray (if your model has one) and empty it into the trash

Wash the crumb tray with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry fully

Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and mild dish soap if needed

Use a dry brush or soft, dry cloth to remove crumbs from the slots

For stuck crumbs, use a wooden or plastic tool to gently dislodge them

Wipe inside the slots with a dry cloth or soft brush

For stubborn residue, use a slightly damp cloth on the exterior only

Avoid getting water or cleaner into the heating elements or controls

Dry all parts completely before reassembling

Plug the toaster back in and run it empty on a couple of cycles to clear any remaining residue
