Turn off power to the AC unit at the thermostat and breaker
Remove debris from around the condenser unit
Take off the top grille or access panel if needed
Use a soft brush to remove loose dirt from the exterior
Vacuum or gently brush the condenser fins
Spray the fins with a garden hose from the inside out if accessible
Use a coil cleaner made for AC condensers if needed
Let the cleaner sit for the recommended time
Rinse the coil thoroughly with low-pressure water
Straighten bent fins with a fin comb if necessary
Clean the fan blades and interior surfaces
Reassemble the unit
Restore power and test the AC system
