Remove the laces
Brush off loose dirt with a dry soft brush
Mix warm water with a small amount of mild detergent
Dip a soft cloth or toothbrush into the solution
Gently scrub the canvas in small circles
Wipe away soap with a clean damp cloth
Repeat on stained areas as needed
Clean the laces separately in soapy water
Air-dry the shoes away from direct sunlight
Stuff the shoes with paper towels to help them keep shape
Sprinkle baking soda inside if needed to reduce odor
Avoid machine drying
Avoid bleach unless the care label allows it
