Use an HDMI cable with a USB-C to HDMI adapter if your MacBook has only USB-C ports
Connect the adapter or cable to your MacBook
Connect the other end to an HDMI port on the TV
Turn on the TV and select the correct HDMI input
On your MacBook, open System Settings
Go to Displays
Choose mirror or extend display as needed
Adjust resolution and arrangement if needed
If using AirPlay, make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network
Open Control Center on your MacBook
Click Screen Mirroring
Select your TV or Apple TV
Enter the AirPlay code if prompted
