Preheat oven to 425°F
Line a baking sheet or roasting pan with foil
Pat country-style ribs dry
Season ribs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and optional brown sugar
Place ribs in a single layer on the pan
Cover tightly with foil
Bake for 30 minutes
Remove foil
Brush ribs with barbecue sauce if desired
Bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes
Broil for 2 to 4 minutes for extra browning
Check that ribs are tender and reach 145°F minimum internal temperature
Rest for 5 minutes before serving
