Check the condom package for damage and the expiration date
Open the package carefully with your fingers, not teeth or sharp objects
Make sure the condom is the right way up
Pinch the tip to leave space for semen
Place the condom on the tip of the erect penis
Roll the condom down to the base of the penis
Use a new condom every time you have sex
If the condom has no reservoir tip, pinch the tip while rolling it on
If the condom is inside out, discard it and use a new one
After ejaculation, hold the condom at the base while withdrawing
Remove the condom carefully to avoid spilling semen
Tie it off if desired, then wrap it in tissue and throw it in the trash
Never reuse a condom
Use water-based or silicone-based lubricant if needed
Avoid oil-based lubricants with latex condoms
