Gather materials: paper, thin wire, glue, scissors, ruler, pencil, LED tea light, and string
Cut the paper into a rectangle
Fold the paper lengthwise to form the lantern body
Mark evenly spaced lines along the folded edge
Cut slits from the folded edge toward the opposite edge, leaving the top uncut
Unfold the paper
Curve the paper into a cylinder or rounded shape
Glue or tape the side edges together
Cut a separate strip of paper for the top handle
Attach the handle to the top of the lantern
Place the LED tea light inside
Hang or display the lantern safely
