Gather jute rope or jute twine, hot glue or strong fabric glue, scissors, and a rug backing or non-slip mat
Decide the rug size and shape
Cut the backing to the desired size and shape
Start at the center or one edge of the backing
Apply a small amount of glue to the backing
Press the jute rope onto the glue
Continue coiling or laying the jute in rows
Keep each row tight and close together
Add glue as you work to secure each section
Trim the jute ends neatly when needed
Press down firmly to keep the surface even
Let the rug dry completely
Attach non-slip backing if needed
Trim any uneven edges
Shake out or vacuum the finished rug before use
