Gather glass, etching cream or a glass etching tool, stencil or vinyl mask, gloves, safety glasses, painter’s tape, sponge or brush, and cleaning supplies
Clean the glass thoroughly with soap and water or rubbing alcohol
Dry the glass completely
Apply the stencil, vinyl mask, or design to the glass
Press down all edges firmly to prevent seepage
Cover any exposed areas you do not want etched
Put on gloves and safety glasses
Apply etching cream evenly over the exposed glass if using cream
Follow the product’s recommended waiting time
Rinse off the cream with water
Remove the stencil or mask carefully
Clean the glass again and dry it
If using a rotary tool or sandblasting method, secure the glass and follow the tool’s safety instructions
Work in a well-ventilated area
Dispose of materials according to product instructions
Wash hands and clean the workspace after finishing
