Pinch or snip off spent flowers just above the nearest healthy leaf or stem junction
Remove the entire flower stalk if it is brown, wilted, or finished blooming
Use clean, sharp scissors or pruners for thicker stems
Check plants regularly and deadhead as soon as blooms fade
Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves at the same time
Dispose of removed flowers and stems to keep the plant tidy
