Read the product label and follow the package directions exactly
Do not use if you have been told not to take sodium phosphate enemas
Wash your hands
Remove the enema from the packaging
Lie on your left side with your right knee bent, unless the label says otherwise
Remove the protective cap from the tip
If instructed on the label, apply a small amount of lubricant to the tip
Gently insert the tip into the rectum as directed on the package
Squeeze the bottle slowly and steadily until it is empty or until the label instructs you to stop
Remove the tip from the rectum
Stay in the position recommended on the label until the urge to go becomes strong
Hold the enema for the time directed on the package
Go to the bathroom when needed
Wash your hands again after use
Drink fluids unless your doctor has told you to limit them
Do not use more than directed
Seek medical advice before use if you are pregnant, elderly, dehydrated, have kidney disease, heart disease, bowel obstruction, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or rectal bleeding
Get urgent medical help if you have severe pain, dizziness, fainting, little or no urination, or no bowel movement after use
