Gather the correct oil, oil filter, wrench, drain pan, funnel, jack, and jack stands
Warm up the engine for a few minutes, then turn it off
Park on a level surface and set the parking brake
Raise the vehicle safely and secure it with jack stands if needed
Place the drain pan under the oil drain plug
Remove the drain plug and let the old oil drain completely
Reinstall the drain plug and tighten it securely
Remove the old oil filter
Lubricate the gasket on the new oil filter with a little fresh oil
Install the new oil filter and tighten it according to instructions
Remove the oil fill cap
Add the correct amount of new oil
Reinstall the oil fill cap
Start the engine and let it run briefly
Check for leaks around the drain plug and oil filter
Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes
Check the oil level with the dipstick
Add more oil if needed
Lower the vehicle
Dispose of the used oil and old filter properly
