How to Do Caramelised Onions?

Peel and thinly slice the onions

Heat butter or oil in a pan over low to medium-low heat

Add the onions and a pinch of salt

Stir occasionally to prevent sticking

Cook slowly until the onions soften and turn golden

Add a little water if the pan starts to dry out

Continue cooking until the onions become deep brown and sweet

Remove from heat and use as needed
