How to Do Pozole?

Gather ingredients: pork or chicken, hominy, onion, garlic, dried chiles, oregano, cumin, bay leaves, salt, pepper, broth, and toppings like cabbage, radish, lime, onion, cilantro, and tostadas

Toast and soak dried chiles

Blend soaked chiles with garlic, onion, and some broth until smooth

Strain the chile sauce if desired

Brown the meat in a large pot

Add onion, garlic, bay leaves, salt, pepper, and broth

Simmer until the meat is tender

Shred the meat

Add hominy to the pot

Stir in the chile sauce

Add oregano and cumin

Simmer until flavors combine

Adjust salt and thickness with broth or water

Serve hot

Top with cabbage, radish, onion, cilantro, lime, and tostadas
