Remove visible hair and debris from the drain cover
Use a cup or small container to bail out standing water
Remove the drain stopper if possible
Pour boiling water down the drain if the pipes are metal
Add baking soda followed by vinegar
Wait 15 to 30 minutes
Flush with hot water
Use a plunger over the drain
Seal the overflow opening with a wet cloth while plunging
Use a drain snake or zip tool to pull out the clog
Repeat plunging and snaking as needed
Clean the stopper and drain cover before reinstalling
Use a wet/dry vacuum on the drain if available
Check the overflow drain for blockages
Call a plumber if the clog does not clear
