Turn off the water supply
Open the faucet to release pressure
Remove the faucet handle
Remove the retaining nut or cartridge clip
Pull out the cartridge, stem, or valve assembly
Inspect washers, O-rings, and seals
Replace worn or damaged parts
Clean mineral buildup from components
Reassemble the faucet
Turn the water supply back on
Test for leaks and proper flow
