Choose a Kool-Aid flavor with strong color
Wash hair and leave it slightly damp
Wear gloves and protect clothing and surfaces
Mix Kool-Aid powder with hot water until fully dissolved
Let the mixture cool to a safe temperature
Apply petroleum jelly around the hairline to reduce staining
Section hair for even application
Saturate the hair with the Kool-Aid mixture
Leave it on for 15 to 60 minutes
Rinse hair with cool water until the water runs mostly clear
Avoid shampooing immediately after dyeing
Dry and style hair as usual
Repeat if a deeper color is desired
