Brush hair thoroughly to remove tangles
Part hair down the middle from forehead to nape
Clip one side out of the way
Take a small section of hair at the front of the unclipped side
Divide that section into three equal strands
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Cross the left strand over the new middle strand
Add a small section of hair to the right strand
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Add a small section of hair to the left strand
Cross the left strand over the middle strand
Repeat adding hair and crossing strands until reaching the nape
Finish the braid with a regular three-strand braid
Secure the end with a hair tie
Repeat the same steps on the other side
Smooth flyaways if needed
