Choose a ripe papaya with yellow-orange skin and a slight give when pressed
Wash the papaya thoroughly under running water
Cut the papaya lengthwise in half
Scoop out the seeds with a spoon
Peel the skin off with a knife or vegetable peeler, or leave it on and scoop the flesh out
Slice or cube the flesh
Eat it plain or add it to fruit salad, yogurt, smoothies, or salsa
Discard the skin and seeds unless using the seeds for another purpose
