Open Minecraft
Sign in to your Microsoft account
Go to Settings
Open Profile or Account settings
Make sure multiplayer is enabled
Check your Xbox privacy settings
Allow joining multiplayer games
Allow playing with people outside Xbox Live
Save the changes
Restart Minecraft
Join or create a multiplayer world
Make sure all players use the same Minecraft edition
Make sure all players are on compatible game versions
Check that the world is set to multiplayer or invite-only as needed
