How to Filter Out Duplicates in Excel?

Select the range of cells or the table

Go to the Data tab

Click Remove Duplicates

Choose the columns to check for duplicates

Check or uncheck My data has headers as needed

Click OK

Review the results in the dialog box

Use Conditional Formatting to highlight duplicates

Select the range

Go to Home

Click Conditional Formatting

Choose Highlight Cells Rules

Select Duplicate Values

Choose a formatting style

Click OK

Use Advanced Filter to extract unique records

Select the data range

Go to Data

Click Advanced

Choose Copy to another location

Check Unique records only

Click OK

Use the UNIQUE function in newer Excel versions

Enter the formula in a blank cell

Reference the source range

Press Enter

Copy the unique results as needed

Use PivotTable to list unique items

Select the data

Insert a PivotTable

Add the field to Rows

Review the unique list generated
