Blot up any wet paint immediately with paper towels or a clean cloth
Scrape off excess dried paint gently with a dull knife or spoon
Test any cleaning product on a hidden area of the carpet first
Use warm water and a small amount of dish soap for water-based paint
Dab the stain with a cloth instead of rubbing
Repeat blotting with clean cloths until the paint lifts
Use rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol for stubborn water-based paint
Use acetone or nail polish remover for some oil-based paint only if safe for the carpet
Apply a carpet-safe paint remover if needed
Rinse the area with clean water after cleaning
Blot dry with towels
Vacuum the carpet once fully dry
Repeat the process if any stain remains
