Sprinkle baking soda generously over the affected area and let it sit for several hours
Vacuum up the baking soda thoroughly
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water and lightly spray the stained area
Blot the area with a clean cloth to remove excess moisture
Apply an enzyme cleaner made for pet or urine odors to the mattress or fabric
Let the cleaner sit for the recommended time on the label
Blot again and allow the area to air-dry completely
Place a fan near the bed to speed up drying
Open windows to improve airflow and reduce odor
Repeat the cleaning process if the smell remains
Use a waterproof mattress protector after cleaning to prevent future odors
If the smell persists, replace the mattress pad or mattress cover
For severe odor, have the mattress professionally cleaned or deodorized
