Rest and stay home
Drink small sips of water or oral rehydration solution often
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and sugary drinks
Eat bland foods when you can tolerate food
Avoid greasy, spicy, and dairy foods until better
Wash hands frequently with soap and water
Clean contaminated surfaces with disinfectant
Avoid preparing food for others while sick
Get plenty of sleep
Seek medical care if you have signs of dehydration, severe pain, blood in vomit or stool, high fever, or symptoms lasting more than a few days
