Brush off loose rust with a dry nylon brush or soft-bristle brush
Mix warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap
Scrub the rusted area gently with a non-metal brush or sponge
Make a paste with baking soda and water
Apply the paste to the rust spots and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Scrub again with a soft brush
Rinse with clean water
Dry the blackstone completely with a towel
Heat the surface briefly to remove any remaining moisture
Apply a thin layer of cooking oil to protect the surface
If rust remains, use a plastic scraper or fine non-metal abrasive pad very lightly
Avoid steel wool or harsh metal tools
Store the blackstone in a dry place with a cover after cleaning
