Open the YouTube video
Click the three-dot menu below or beside the video
Select Show transcript if available
Copy the transcript text from the panel
Use a browser extension or third-party transcript tool if Show transcript is not available
Paste the video URL into a transcript downloader or caption extractor
Turn on captions and use auto-generated subtitles if needed
Use YouTube Studio if you own the video to access captions or subtitles
Download the subtitle file and convert it to plain text
Use speech-to-text software to transcribe the audio manually if no transcript exists
