Apply a small amount of olive oil, coconut oil, or peanut butter to the sap
Work it into the affected hair with your fingers
Let it sit for a few minutes
Gently comb out the softened sap
Wash the hair with dish soap or clarifying shampoo
Rinse thoroughly with warm water
Repeat if needed
Avoid pulling or cutting the hair unless necessary
Use ice to harden very sticky sap before removal if helpful
Finish with regular shampoo and conditioner
