Tilt your head to the side and gently pull on your earlobe
Lie on your side with the affected ear facing downward
Shake your head gently
Create a vacuum by cupping your palm over the ear and pressing lightly
Use gravity by bending forward with the ear facing down
Chew, yawn, or move your jaw
Dry the outer ear with a clean towel
Use a hair dryer on the lowest setting, held at a safe distance
Use over-the-counter drying ear drops if appropriate
Avoid inserting cotton swabs, fingers, or other objects into the ear
Seek medical help if the water does not come out or if you have pain, discharge, or hearing changes
