Press and hold the power button for 20 to 40 seconds
Release the power button
Wait for the Kindle to restart
If it does not restart, charge it for at least 30 minutes
Press and hold the power button again for 20 to 40 seconds
If needed, go to Settings
Tap Device Options
Tap Reset
Confirm the reset
If the screen is frozen, keep holding the power button until the device turns off and restarts
If the Kindle has a pinhole reset button, press it with a paperclip if applicable
